VALENCIA, Calif. — Skow for Girlfriends Films announced today that it is expanding its directorial roster with the addition of director/screenwriter David Stanley.
Stanley has written many of Skow for Girlfriends Films’ feature movies.
“David is a veteran director with a keen eye for erotic cinema and the kinds of adult movies audiences like,” B. Skow said. “He’s a creative genius and a great friend with a long list of accomplishments who brings a lot of expertise and know-how to Skow for Girlfriends films. I’m just very excited to have him.”
The studio said that with the addition of filmmaker Stanley and his brand of eclectic, story-driven features, it aims to further expand its production footprint across the industry.
Having taken a four-year break from directing to get married and explore other creative ventures, Stanley is back in the director’s chair with a clear vision, and passionate about continuing his filmmaking journey.
“I'm both very, very nervous and extremely excited to be returning,” Stanley said. “I'm excited to be working with B. Skow, for sure. He and I share a complex appetite to produce unique, original stories incorporating great sex. There’s no one else I’d rather work, and directing for Skow for Girlfriends Films is a huge honor.”
A mainstream film director since 1994, Stanley joined the adult industry in 1995 as a producer for Vivid and other companies. He directed his first adult film in 1997. As one of the most prolific directors in the industry, Stanley has earned a number of industry accolades including a 2015 XBIZ Screenplay of the Year Award nomination for “Gardener.”
Stanley is set to begin directing two features later this month for Skow for Girlfriends Films.
“B Skow has always understood me and my vision,” Stanley said. “He is the only true artist I've ever met in adult and far and away the best director. He's an incredibly gifted and smart guy who brings out the best in me. I love how he encourages creativity and always looks for new ways of doing things. He's a friend and an inspiration and whatever future success I have, I owe in no small part to him.”
