Grand Slam Media Taps Robert Merdock, Elevates 3 Execs

TORONTO — Grand Slam Media said today that it has promoted a number of key players internally and welcomed aboard an industry vet, Robert Merdock, to take on its general manager role.

With two decades of experience in mainstream and adult advertising operations and media sales, Merdock brings a wealth of knowledge and an intrinsic ability to manage digital media businesses with a sensible perspective, the company said today.

“It is undeniable that Grand Slam Media has the most cohesive and charismatic team of any advertising company in the business,” Merdock said. “The entire crew has committed everything to the industry and making it better.

"I love these people for their focus and am looking forward to further organizing and optimizing our productivity and delivery as we venture forth to new horizons. Especially as we get closer to our big upcoming launch.”

Merdock was referring to the Grand Slam Media’s anticipated launch of a technology platform the company hasn’t yet revealed but plans to roll out in the near future.

Grand Slam Media today announced a couple of personnel moves from within the company.

Kelan Stone, one of the company’s initial hires, was recently appointed to director of sales for the company.

He said: “The opportunity to drive this sales ship is one that I could not turn down. Our sales team is comprised of rock stars making my job easy, but it is my duty and commitment to heighten GSM’s reach and inspire consistent growth quarter after quarter.”

Also, Andrew R., now in his third year at the company, has been promoted to senior sales executive.

Chris Coupland also has been elevated. He is now the director of operations with a special focus on the new technology arm that the company is slated to introduce in the coming weeks.

Coupland remains one of the pillars at Grand Slam Media and is sure to flourish in his new role.

“We are thrilled to have someone like Robert on our team and lend his hand in pulling everything together for a more cohesive and efficient company, Kelan and Andrew are poised to lead the sales team to new frontiers, and Chris is integral to the new solutions we are bringing to market,” Coupland said. “When you think of key people in this business, you think of those four and I am happy to see them all in positions of limitless growth.”
