Adam & Eve Vice President of Sales and Marketing Peter Reynolds handpicked each of WebFlixxx’s four current website partners. WebFlixxx’s lines include two solo-girl niche sites VanillaDeVille.com and CatalinaCruz.com, PlatinumBucks’ MILFRiders.com, and photographer J. Stephen Hicks’ all-girl DigitalDreamgirls.com.
“We all realized that there is so much great content on the web,” Mischa Allen, Adam & Eve’s director of operations and publicity, told XBIZ. “The sites we’re putting under WebFlixxx have so many viewers, fans and exclusive content. We’re here to fill in the gap with tangible product and expand their brand names throughout a wider audience.”
Reynolds told XBIZ that each WebFlixxx distribution deal also includes the rights for broadcast, video-on-demand, mobile and hotel agreements.
“I think WebFlixxx is all about reaching new fans and a brand new audience all over the world,” Reynolds said. “The websites that signed on have carved their own niche online. I think, overall, there is a fascination with Internet-driven content. It’s the next great frontier.”
While most of the content that goes from the web to DVD will be re-cut and re-edited specifically for DVD release, Reynolds said he would act as a de-facto production consultant, advising his web shooters to make the DVD play to a larger audience by filming content that is “broadcast ready.”
“I believe that Internet content plays up the reality element,” Reynolds said. “Younger, hipper audiences want adult entertainment that is more stripped down, more raw and more real. That’s what WebFlixxx is all about.”
Allen added that WebFlixxx would expose consumers that are not Internet savvy to new content. She said that many consumers still do not have broadband Internet connections and that some are hesitant to download adult content or supply personal information online.
WebFlixxx initially will release two new titles per month and will ramp up accordingly as the label adds more website partners. Cruz’s oral-themed title “Licensed to Blow” releases May 15 and is the studio’s first-ever release. Hicks’ “Digital Dreamgirls Vol. 1” comes out May 29.
