LAS VEGAS — The companies behind the adult tube sites Xnxx.com and XVideos.com today filed more cybersquatting claims at WIPO.
Named in the latest UDRP filings that seek domain transfers are XVideoNow.com, XnxxHDTube.com and XnxxToday.net — each offering standard adult tube site fare.
Also named in a UDRP claim today was the adult tube site Xn--XVdeos-4va.net, which now resolves to complainant XVideos.com.
Xnxx.com and XVideos.com are operated by NKL Associates S.R.O. and WGCZ S.R.O., a Czechoslovakia-based company that has trademarks for the brands.
NKL Associates and WGCZ have filed scores of cases against copycat adult tube sites in the past several years. In nearly all of the cases, they have succeeded before WIPO arbitrators, later benefiting by taking over and re-branding the transferred sites.
Industry attorney Marc Randazza of Randazza Legal Group told XBIZ today that the claims are part of "a global brand protection strategy." Randazza represents NKL Associates and WGCZ.
"Trademark rights need to be defended, vigilantly, or they will be lost," he said. "A global brand protection strategy includes international registrations of rights and enforcement of those rights.
"We are consistently working internationally for adult and non-adult brands in order to protect their valuable IP rights."
