LOS ANGELES — Third World Media announced that its movie “Shemale Secret Service” from Grooby Productions took home the Best DVD Award at the Transgender Erotica Awards (TEA) Sunday night in Hollywood.
Buddy Wood, who won Best Director, accepted the award with Jane Marie and Christian XXX. Marie made her hardcore debut in “Shemale Secret Service.”
“What more can you ask for,” Wood said.
“Shemale Secret Service” was a big-budget release about shemales protecting the president. It also starred Doll, Chanel Couture, Khloe Hart, Stephanny Tricks and Natalie Foxx.
Meanwhile, Third World Media veteran director Ed Hunter also was honored, receiving the TEA Lifetime Achievement Award for his work behind the camera. Fellow recipient Gia Darling, who flew in especially for the event, and Third World General Manager Diego Castles presented the award to Hunter, an exclusive director for Third World for 15-plus years. Third World president Steve Scott was in attendance.
Darling called Hunter her mentor in the industry. He has directed more than 300 TS movies dating back to 1999.
“It was a very special award last night,” said David Peskin, sales manager for Third World.
A notoriously private person, Hunter has traveled the world shooting porn. He’s shot in Brazil, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, Colombia, Mexico, Russia, Czech Republic, Prague and more.
“It was an honor to receive this award and to be recognized,” Hunter said. “I want to give a special 'thank you' to Steven Grooby, the CEO of Grooby Productions.”
