The meeting marked the first time the FSC’s new Executive Director Diane Duke formally met with members and nonmembers.
“The FSC and the members we represent are facing a pivotal time,” Duke said. “The FSC Board has assured me that they are willing to make the difficult decisions and do the hard work necessary to ensure that this association achieves long-term success. I am eager to face the challenges ahead.”
Elected for two-year terms to the board are:
Jeffrey Douglas, current chair of the board
Mara Epstein, current FSC board member
Mark Kernes, current FSC board member
Reed Lee, current FSC board member
Lynn Swanson, replacing Nick Boyias
Tim Valenti, current FSC board member
The following members have been elected by the board for leadership positions:
Board President – Jim Everett, COO Lion’s Den
Board Chair – Jeffrey Douglas, attorney
Board Secretary – Mark Kernes, Adult Video News
Board Treasurer – William Murphy, Fairvilla Megastores
The meeting program also included Duke’s introduction, FSC Federal Lobbyist Robert Raben’s update on federal lobbying efforts, an update on Utah’s Child Protection Registry from attorney Greg Piccionelli and a 2257 update from Board Chairman Jeffrey Douglas.
