BRUNN AM GEBIRGE, Austria — DIMOCO today announced its latest global mobile messaging market special spotlighting the development of the Application-to-Person and Person-to-Application SMS market.
The report was done in cooperation with Juniper Research and Portio Research.
“This time we enlarged the data base from previously Europe only to worldwide,” CEO Gerald Tauchner said.
According to Portio, the Application-to-Person- and the Person-to-Application-market will rise from 1,436 billion SMS in 2013 to 1,762 billion text messages in 2018.
The Asian Pacific (565 billion A2P- and P2A-SMS, in 2013) and North America (548 billion A2P- and P2A-SMS, in 2013) markets are the top regions where SMS is used for application to person communication and vice versa. In 2013, Europe showed an A2P and P2A-SMS traffic of 185 billion, followed by Latin America with 88 billion A2P and P2A-SMS and the Middle East and Africa with 50 billion A2P- and P2A-SMS.
With 6.4 billion handsets in use worldwide, DIMOCO said companies could tap into the enormous potential of SMS for their entire customer and employee lifecycle communication.
“From Asia to North America, SMS is and will continue to be an important channel for companies. Unlike the decreasing Person-to-Person SMS market (as a consequence of the increasing over-the-top messaging apps) the Application-to-Person, and Person-to-Application SMS area is a strong-growth market,” Tauchner said.
He added, “We are supporting various industries with our carrier-grade infrastructure and our one-way as well as two-way messaging products.”
Besides the excellent return-on-investment (ROI), speed, security and reliability are still the number one criteria for companies using SMS communication, according to DIMOCO. “Our mobile TAN service for the banking industry and our two-factor-authentication service for online business have become state-of-the-art messaging services,” Tauchner said.
DIMOCO noted that it will present the future of carrier billing and mobile messaging in the Application-to-Person and Person-to-Application sector at the Mobile World Congress 2015 set for March 2-5. The company will be in the App Planet Hall 8.1, stand number 8.1K41.
In addition to a new carrier billing publication presented by Juniper Research and DIMOCO, the Portio Research and DIMOCO mobile messaging market special publication will be also available in printed form. More information can be found here.
