ASACP Honors its Featured Sponsors for January, 2015

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its Featured Sponsors for the month of January, 2015.

ASACP enables digital media businesses including legitimate adult entertainment websites to protect themselves by protecting children — with its monthly Sponsor Recognition Program publicly honoring the achievements and generosity of the best of these responsible companies.

“The association’s Sponsor Recognition Program honors companies that have demonstrated a willingness to put proactive corporate responsibility and child protection ahead of profits,” says ASACP’s Executive Director, Tim Henning. “These companies set worthy examples for their peers to follow and show legislators and other stakeholders that the industry is made up of caring professionals that are willing to do the right thing.”

“Today’s adult entertainment industry is remarkably family friendly and made up of people with children, grandchildren and families of their own,” Henning explains. “The same care that these professionals extend to their own families, they seek to extend to the families of their customers; protecting children by keeping them out of and away from age inappropriate materials online and through the mobile devices carried by an increasing number of youth.”

Honoring its first batch of Featured Sponsors for 2015, ASACP is pleased to recognize two of its most distinguished supporters — MindGeek and AdultWebmasterNet — for their generous support of the association and its continuing battle to protect the innocent from harm online.

MindGeek
A Platinum Sponsor that has generously supported ASACP since 2011, MindGeek exemplifies how today’s top-tier companies are committed to the cause of online child protection. According to MindGeek’s Vice President Catherine Dunn, the protection of children in the digital age is a paramount concern for everyone involved.

“Families, guardians and business leaders all share a responsibility in ensuring children are not exposed to inappropriate content online,” Dunn explains. “Everyone has a role to play, and we do our part by ensuring age verification tools are an integral part of MindGeek’s extensive portfolio of industry-leading websites as legally required, so that only those who should enjoy our sites are able to.”

Through its continuing support for ASACP, MindGeek provides a worthy example for other companies to follow in the ongoing fight to protect their businesses by protecting children.

AdultWebmasterNet
A Corporate Sponsor since 2012, AdultWebmasterNet is a traffic services firm that sells and trades adult website traffic, putting the company in a position to view the material published by a wide range of adult sites, which it does with a strong sense of corporate responsibility.

For example, the company reviews all traffic requests to ensure it meets minimum standards, such as the lack of underage depictions or any allusion to them. AdultWebmasterNet also publishes its own set of Best Practices, which include encouraging clients to become sponsors of ASACP and to adopt the RTA labeling protocol, helping spread the word about the need to protect children online.

Despite being an offshore firm, AdultWebmasterNet goes beyond what is required of it by voluntarily complying with U.S. laws, such as 18 U.S.C. §2257, which mandates performer age verification, showing how ASACP’s top supporters take their responsibilities seriously.

“As ASACP ushers in a New Year, when companies both old and new are exploring the latest technologies and opening new markets, it is as vital as ever that they take a proactive stance towards protecting children,” Henning concludes. “Without this care and continuing support, the association would not be able to stay abreast of the changes in the digital media market — where ever younger youth are living connected lifestyles that make them vulnerable.”
