LOS ANGELES — Severe Society Films has been nominated for two 2015 XBIZ Awards, with their films “Treacherous” and “The Devil’s Workshop 2” both receiving nods in the BDSM Release of the Year category.
"Treacherous" follows the power plays and nefarious goings-on at an underground sex club, and stars Aiden Starr, who also co-directed with SSF co-owner Dee Severe. The two-disc epic features a cast of 50-plus, including Dana DeArmond, Caroline Pierce, Nikki Darling, Kiki D’aire, Jay Taylor and Maia Davis.
“The Devil’s Workshop 2” features Nicki Hunter as a struggling singer who sells her soul to the devil – and suffers the consequences. The dark feature also stars veteran BDSM master Tim Woodman.
“It was so much fun to have ‘Devil’s Workshop 2’ include the actual Devil,” said Severe, who directed. “Nicki and Tim did such an amazing job, and it’s gratifying to have our efforts rewarded by this XBIZ nomination."
“And I’m so honored to be recognized for 'Treacherous,' which is by far our most ambitious project to date,” Severe added. “It also opened the door for us to go forward with our new distributor Exile and new line Severe Sex, so overall it’s been the best year ever.
Howard Levine, president of sales for Exile, remarked, ”Exile will distribute this title along with Severe Society 2014 released titles. I am so honored to be able to distribute Severe Sex, as they are the top-shelf niche company in the business today."
Aiden Starr added, "'Treacherous' represents the future of BDSM movies. In the past, BDSM films were replete with heavy and authentic discipline, bondage and pain training but left the sex to the private bedrooms of our viewers. There is a new wave of heavy fetish entertainment and Severe Society is at its forefront. I'm proud to be a part of this huge feature. I'm proud to be a part of the new wave of alternative entertainment in which lifestyle players can punish, play and fuck on film without restraint."
SSF co-owner Jimmy Broadway served as executive producer and cinematographer as well as performed in "Treacherous."
“It seems like every year somebody in the adult industry takes on the challenge of an epic feature like this,” Broadway said. "But that's never been a fetish company before. It's a honor to be the first, and the fact that we are being recognized by our industry for the incredible effort that our entire cast and crew put in makes it extra special."
