Snapcash Paves Way for Porn-Related Transactions

LOS ANGELES —  Snapcash, the new micropayments system from Snapchat, is paving the way for porn-related transactions not previously practical for the image-messaging site.

Tech news site The Register has already identified some amateur porn stars who are advertising their wares in exchange for Snapcash funds, according to a report by the U.K.'s Mirror.

"They have been spotted touting for business on Reddit, trading X-rated pics for micropayments," the site reported.

It remains to be seen what the Snapchat founders think of the potential adult entertainment applications that Snapcash facilitates.

Snapchat users can take photos, record videos, add text and drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients for a set a time limit. That time limit is usually between 1 and 10 seconds, after which they will be hidden from the recipient's device and deleted from Snapchat's servers.

According to Snapchat in May 2014, the app's users were sending 700 million photos and videos per day.
