Storerotica’s stated goal is to bring together under one roof a wide swath of adult video stores, intimate apparel stores and gentlemen’s clubs.
“There are other specialized adult conventions being held, but this is the first time that the owners and operators of every type of adult or erotic retail outlet in a city will be under one roof,” Wiatt said. “At first glance, adult video stores, lingerie stores and adult nightclubs may seem to be different businesses, but in publishing three trade magazines for these groups we have found an incredible amount of shared interests.”
Show producers Don Wiatt and John Cornetta publish three national B2B trade publications for each of the groups Storerotica targets. The pair publishes Exotic Dancer Magazine containing the latest info on adult nightclubs and the exotic dancing industry; Teeze Magazine, a trade journal for lingerie and intimate apparel stores; and Adult Store Buyer Magazine geared towards retailers and distributors.
The tagline for Storerotica is “Three Tradeshows — One Badge — No Fans.” Storerotica plans to operate three different sections within the show pavilion — one each for adult storeowners and distributors, gentlemen’s clubs and intimate apparel.
“We will have some panel sessions that are very industry-specific for each of the three groups, and also some panels that are more general and will be open to all the attendees,” Cornetta said. “The same goes for the nighttime events; some will be industry specific and some will be for all the attendees. But there will be no fans. This is a business-to-business convention. We don’t want to dilute it by letting the fans in.”
All convention attendees from the retail store sector have the added bonus of free admission to the lingerie and intimate apparel tradeshows Lingerie Americas at the Venetian and Magic Marketplace at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Both shows run concurrently with Storerotica.
