PrivacyScan Protects Privacy on Mac OS X Yosemite

LOS ANGELES — SecureMac has announced the latest update to its PrivacyScan app, which now adds full privacy features and support for Apple’s new Yosemite operating system.

Coinciding with an increase in awareness of the importance of online privacy to adult entertainment consumers and producers, SecureMac has released a new version of its award winning privacy app, PrivacyScan 1.7, which is optimized to work with Apple’s latest operating system.

According to the company, PrivacyScan securely wipes digital footprints left after using a computer and accessing the Internet — personally identifying footprints that can continue to make headlines, long after the Internet session ends.

“With Apple being under the microscope as it comes to privacy and security after the celebrity iCloud scandal to the widely discussed Spotlight security and privacy concerns with Yosemite, it is even more important to take precautionary actions to stay protected,” says a SecureMac spokesperson. “PrivacyScan is like a private eye agent for your computer, identifying hidden threats that can compromise privacy when accessed by advertisers or snoopers trying to see user activity.”

The spokesperson explains that PrivacyScan removes Internet clutter that accumulates in cache and history files while browsing the web and securely deletes that data, covering the user’s digital tracks and saving valuable hard drive space by eliminating all traces of the apps and files that have been accessed.

Other PrivacyScan updates increased the app’s compatibility with Firefox and Safari 8 web browsers. SecureMac offers a free 15-day demo available on the PrivacyScan website, and existing PrivacyScan users can upgrade to the latest version free of charge.

With 5-Star ratings from Macworld UK and Macworld AU and a 4-Star rating from MacLife magazine, PrivacyScan is a proven performer that fills in the gaps left behind by Apple.

In honor of October being National Cyber Security Awareness Month, PrivacyScan 1.7 is available for a limited time for $2.99 (a substantial discount off of the regular price of $14.99), in the Mac App Store.
