Gay Media Company JRL Becomes ASACP Sponsor

LOS ANGELES — JRL Charts Online has become the ASACP’s (ASACP) newest corporate sponsor.

JRL is a stalwart in the gay film world. The company monitors new gay adult films through its publishing of the nationally recognized JRL Weekly Top 50 charts, which previews upcoming releases and includes the latest industry news posted daily.

JRL’s charts are compiled based on sales data from nearly 1,000 retail outlets around the country and are updated weekly. Parent company JRL Communications also partners with the Cybersocket award-winning Gay Internet Radio Live Network.

As a growing company, JRL President Ralph WilMacheck said he felt it was time to have a bigger role in stopping the spread of child pornography online.

“When you factor in all of our media outlets, we’re now reaching more than half a million gay and lesbian consumers every week,” WilMacheck said. “That has a big impact. Obviously, JRL has never promoted any type of illegal behavior. But now we want to go the extra mile and support ASACP’s work protecting children online. It’s not just good for kids, it’s good for our industry.”

ASACP Executive Director Joan Irvine was happy to add another gay company to ASACP’s list of sponsors because it reasserts her belief that child pornography is an issue that affects every online adult company both gay and straight.

“Anti-gay groups claim that gay people are ‘after’ their children,” Irvine said. “Well, some of our major sponsors are gay companies who stand by the ASACP mission and contribute substantially to our ability to carry it out. We’re glad to welcome JRL to that group.”
