CineKink Seeks Entries for 2015 Festival, Tour

RAHWAY, NJ — "Kinky film festival” CineKink is seeking films and videos, of any length and genre, that explore and celebrate a wide diversity of sexuality for inclusion at its annual NYC-based event and subsequent screening tour.

Dedicated to the recognition and encouragement of sex-positive and kink-friendly depictions in film and television, CineKink reports that it is looking to “blur boundaries” and will consider offerings drawn from both the independent and adult film world. It accepts works ranging from "documentary to drama, camp comedy to artsy experimental, mildly spicy to quite explicit — and everything in between," the organizers explained.

"People tend to get fixated on the 'kink' part of our name. But basically as long as a project involves consenting adults, just about anything that celebrates sex as a right of self expression is fair game," said Lisa Vandever, CineKink co-founder and director. "If you think your work might make sense in this context, please submit it for us to take a look."

Submission categories for CineKink include: shorts (less than 40 minutes long; eligible for jury-determined awards); features (longer than 40 minutes; eligible for audience-choice awards); adult cinema/porn scenes and excerpts (5-25 minute scenes or segments of longer works; eligible for Bring It! competition).

There is no restriction on production completion dates, as long as the work is sufficiently complete at the time of submission. International submissions in most overseas formats are also accepted.

Discounted, early bird entries must be postmarked by Oct. 17, while the regular deadline is Nov. 15. The final festival deadline is Dec. 5.

Scheduled for its 12th annual appearance in February 2015, CineKink NYC, the organization's flagship festival, will feature a short film competition, audience choice awards, an adult entertainment showcase/contest, a gala kick-off event and a closing night party.

A national tour will follow the New York festivities, drawing from its programming to showcase award winners and audience favorites in cities across the country.

The 2014 CineKink Festival Tour is currently underway. Screenings over the years have taken place in such cities as Portland, S.F., Oakland, Chicago, Austin, Las Vegas, L.A., Berlin, Australia and more.
