Microsoft Reveals Windows 10

LOS ANGELES — Web developers may want to get a jumpstart on the latest version of Microsoft’s popular Windows operating system (OS), with the release of its Version 10 preview.

Yesterday, Microsoft unveiled the latest version of Windows — skipping a version nine release to leap ahead to Windows 10 — which brings the return of the classic Start Menu, beefs up the (wait for it, techies) command prompt of all things, and offers a more cohesive multi-platform user experience.

While the full version of the new OS is not expected to become available to consumers until mid-2015, the company is offering developers what it calls a technical preview, which is now available for download by members of the Windows Insider Program.

According to Microsoft, the Windows Insider Program delivers all the latest Windows preview builds as soon as they become available.

“This means you’ll be one of the first to experience the new ideas and concepts we’re building,” says a Microsoft rep. “In return, we want to know what you think. You’ll get an easy-to-use app to give us your feedback, which will help guide us along the way.”

“This program is designed exclusively for people who want be involved in the process,” the rep added. “So if you want to help us build the best Windows yet, we want you to join us.”

Although the Windows 10 technical preview only shows the earliest stages of the new OS’ development, and as such is likely festooned with buggy features, it will provide guidance and insights for those who live on the cutting edge of web development — including webmasters seeking to take the lead in today’s highly competitive adult entertainment industry.
