WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC) announced today that it has been honored for its fundraising work for AIDS Walk LA at a cocktail party hosted by "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Lisa Vanderpump at Pump Lounge in West Hollywood.
Team leader Dana DeArmond called on APAC members to join the AIDS Walk LA team and in less than three weeks the group raised more than $15,000. APAC said it is one of the three top fundraising teams for the event which will take place on Oct. 12.
“I’m proud of our team and I encourage others to join in the interim period before the event; every little bit helps. It is an honor to lead the APAC team. I look forward to leading more fundraising projects in the future,” DeArmond said.
APAC President Chanel Preston added, “I am really excited to see how far team APAC has come in the AIDS Walk fundraiser. This is the first time we have raised money as an organization, and it shows just how much performers can accomplish when they come together.”
Both Preston and DeArmond noted that it was also important for performers to give back to AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA), an organization that supported the adult film industry in opposing AB1576.
DeArmond has also organized the APAC sponsored Porno Bingo fundraiser to benefit AIDS Project LA set for Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood.
Donations are accepted through October 12 via the APAC team fundraising page.
