GLASGOW, Scotland — Adult retailers will have the chance to air their opinions and provide feedback on a range of key industry issues thanks to a new adult retailing research program launching this Fall.
The 'Hot Clicks' offering, conceived and managed by Glasgow-based Red Pill Insight + Marketing, is open (and free) to all adult retailers whether selling their own goods or those of others.
Retailers will be able to offer confidential opinions on industry-wide issues and evaluate other key areas including supplier relations and marketing.
The apparent lack of industry insight was noted by Red Pill director Brian Gray, who several years ago organized the XBIZ.net London Gatherings.
"Whether it's the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey' factor, the increasing mainstream acceptance of adult pleasure products, or the array of excoting new lingerie designers entering the market and selling directly to consumers online, there's no denying the importance — and interest — in the adult retailing industry today," Gray said.
He added, "But while market worth in key segments is often calculated and commented on, it seems strange no current opportunities exist for firms within the sector to give their opinions in an organized fashion. 'Hot Clicks' addresses this and will generate an insight-rich snapshot for the industry that will be of interest for adult industry marketers as well as retailers themselves."
Although the first contributions have yet to be posted, Gray said he is optimistic that awareness of and enthusiasm for the program will spread throughout the industry and become a regular activity. He noted however that the fate of the offering lies with the retailers themselves.
Gray said, "The success of Hot Clicks relies completely on the enthusiastic participation of adult retailers, and in sufficient numbers. It's their opinions, and the subsequent insight gleaned, that will drive the project forward and no doubt provide some interesting talking points among the industry."
All those completing the survey will receive a free summary of key findings. Further paid-for reports providing more in-depth insight will be produced, while custom insight based on the survey data can also be provided on a consulting basis.
Adult industry retailers wishing to take part can click here. Gray advised that to ensure participation in the first survey wave, registration should be completed as soon as possible.
