TAMPA, Fla. — A tech-forward product, The Glov, has launched an Indiegogo campaign to complete production on a sex glove that its developers believe are poised to free women from sex toy-related hand cramps.
The manufacturers maintain that “every self-penetration device on the market requires the user to hold and operate it in an unnatural and straining way” by requiring the user to “grip the device at its base, hold it at a 90-degree angle, and incorporate the whole arm in order to create the rhythmic in and out motion.”
The Glov’s answer to this qualm is not exactly intuitive, but it is innovative. Festive in fuchsia and purple, the unisex silicone rubber glove fits around the users’ entire hand and features an attachment connection that fits into a number of compatible, insertable sex toys. Importantly, the toys jut out perpendicular to the hand, changing the insertion angle and letting you fulfill your secret desire of becoming Edward Dildohands.
“The Glov allows a woman to pleasure herself easily and without the awkward positioning of traditional sex toys,” Vicki LeMay, The Glov co-founder and vice president of operations, told XBIZ. “Our technology, coupled with media coverage we hope to reach, should open the door to more discussion about female self pleasure and why it’s healthy and natural.”
The Glov features on-the-hand motor controls and electromagnetic charging, and can be used in water and with a partner.
LeMay and the rest of the team report that The Glov is in advanced stages of production, but needs $38,000 to bring the first production run to the market.
According to the campaign, the funds will go to production tooling, mold manufacturing, firmware refinement, circuit board printing, final testing, packaging, shipping and more.
Besides assuaging wrist aches and reducing awkward masturbation, The Glov aims to address the more catholic concern of validating womens’ often side-swept desires. “I want to empower women to embrace their sexuality and feel good about it,” LeMay explained.
As typical with Indiegogo campaigns, contributors can earn limited offer perks, like reduced priced products and earlier shipping dates.
