Joone’s award, which was presented to him by Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane, marks the 40th overall award to honor the blockbuster movie.
Founded in 2001, the Australian Adult Industry Awards showcases the growing Australian adult industry that includes brothels, escort agencies, strippers, retail shops, film and video production companies and gentlemen’s clubs.
“We were delighted to honor such an important player in the industry as Joone down under,” show founder Maxine Fensom said. “His contribution of ‘Pirates’ to the Australian market confirms that our adult industry is growing and becoming more important every day.”
From its premiere at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood to receiving an R-rating by the MPAA and securing mainstream distribution with MTI, “Pirates” continues to garner acclaim more than a year after its release.
“It was an incredible feeling to present Joone with the 40th award [for Pirates],” Jane said. “Speaking for Joone and the entire cast and crew, being a part of this production continues to be a source of pride.”
Filmed with high-definition cameras, “Pirates” features swordplay, CGI skeleton warriors, sea battles and more than 300 special effects. It was shot on location in California and off the coast of Florida.
