Buck Angel Cleared to Split From His Estranged Wife

BATON ROUGE, La. — Transsexual porn star Buck Angel’s bid to divorce his wife and seek alimony was given the green light under Louisiana law.

TMZ reported that a court decision found Angel and estranged wife Elayne Angel legally married although he was physically a woman at the time of the marriage in 2003.

Angel’s wife hoped that he was declared a woman, which would void what she called a same-sex marriage. Under Louisiana law, a person doesn't change sex unless the genitalia is altered.

But the court ruled the union was legal because the couple always intended to be man and wife.

California also helped sway the Louisiana court's decision as Angel got a name and gender change there in 1998.

Angel wants the divorce and $2,000 a month in spousal support.
