LOS ANGELES — The Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC) recently added a directory of adult industry friendly resources to the performer accessible section of its website (apac-usa.com).
This directory contains attorneys, accountants, doctors, therapists, and insurance providers who have been recommended by fellow performers. In APAC’s Porn 101 video performers are advised to seek the counsel of various professionals when needed and the resource directory aims to make it easier to find that counsel by compiling adult industry friendly options.
Chanel Preston, vice president of APAC, explained why this kind of directory is needed.
"Sex work is so stigmatized that it can be difficult for us performers to find professionals that are supportive and understanding towards the work we do," Preston said. "These resources are finally available to help performers easily find professionals they can trust without the worry of judgement."
Access to APAC’s resource lists, the performer-only forum, and voting in the election for APAC’s second board can be obtained through logging into the apac-usa.com website. Performers can sign up for a login by clicking on the Members tab and filling out a short form.
APAC’s members’ section is closed to the general public, producers and members of the press in order to maintain focus on the questions and concerns of performers.
