Pink & White Participates in Annual AIDS Walk San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO — Pink & White Productions has announced its participation in the annual AIDS Walk San Francisco, a 10-kilometer walk in Golden Gate Park.

According to the company, Pink & White Productions creates adult entertainment that exposes the complexities of queer sexual desire. Taking inspiration from many different sources, Pink & White is dedicated to producing images that reflect today’s blurred gender lines and fluid sexualities.

Benefiting nearly 40 Bay Area AIDS service organizations offering diverse programs from HIV testing and clinical care to food and housing, and direct financial assistance, the AIDS Walk San Francisco is set for Sunday, July 20. This is the first year that Pink & White will participate as an official team, with a goal of raising $1000.

Pink & White’s team includes director Shine Louise Houston, marketing director Jiz Lee, photographer Tristan Crane, CrashPadSeries.com star Andre Shakti, as well as cast, crew, family, and friends. The company welcomes participants to join them, and will be walking the route with St. James Infirmary in support of sex workers’ rights.

A Pink & White spokesperson explains that this year, the company’s participation in AIDS Walk SF makes a timely statement, because California’s “Condom Bill,” AB1576 is forcing its way through the Senate with disregard to the adult industry’s concerns and objections, ignorant of the fact that porn has seen zero on-set transmissions in more than 10 years.

“Meanwhile, the new ‘face’ of HIV is that of young, heterosexual African American women, [with] a 2010 CDC report showing that black women comprise 64 percent of new HIV infections in the U.S.,” the spokesperson stated. “With this pertinent information, Pink & White acknowledges and aims to support organizations that are working effectively towards prevention and treatment for communities who are actually at risk and affected by HIV.”

Interested parties may join Pink & White by registering with the team to walk, or by donating directly at awsf2014.kintera.org/pinkwhite.

AIDS Walk San Francisco reports that last year’s event raised more than $2.6 million, and that since its inception in 1987, the event has raised more than $82 million for lifesaving HIV prevention, testing and care programs and services, growing into the largest AIDS fundraising event in Northern California.

A Bay Area tradition, AIDS Walk San Francisco brings together tens of thousands of participants and volunteers, along with hundreds of corporate, community, and friends and family teams and hundreds of thousands of donors from the Bay Area and across the country.

This year’s event benefits Project Inform and three dozen other Bay Area AIDS services.
