LUXEMBURG — Pjur Group reports that the 23rd Cologne AIDS Gala at the Maritim Hotel was “an evening full of colorful surprises.”
At the end, a record donation of 204,000 euros was raised on behalf of the Cologne aids charity, Aidshilfe Köln, and attendees were surprised with little yellow bags containing lubricant samples and condoms from pjur.
Among others, drag queen Tatjana Taft was particularly enthusiastic about the gift, garnering attention with her prodigious mane and mermaid costume. The singer and cabaret artist Kay Ray, actor Jo Weil, a delegation from the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) Cologne and the two moderators Katty Salié and Nina Fiva Sonnenberg also reportedly welcomed the samples.
"We can be thoroughly satisfied, the evening was a complete success for pjur and the Cologne AIDS Gala", said Elisabeth Dahmen, PR Coordinator of the pjur Group. "We at pjur support these types events with a special zeal, since the topic is personal to us and we are particularly concerned with the battle against AIDS. Therefore we are glad our presence was received so well."
Pjur has supported the Aidshilfe in Cologne at different events for several years, and participates in diverse international actions and projects for AIDS prevention and against discrimination of persons infected with HIV, Dahmen noted.
