LOS ANGELES — Director Will Ryder on Monday announced that production is underway on "Manson Family XXX," billed as a 1960's era thriller produced by Will Ryder Productions.
Ryder, who directed the 2014 XBIZ Award-winning "Grease XXX," said the movie has been in the works for more than a year and has gone through many concept revisions and rewrites. It centers on the Los Angeles years of Charles Manson and his young, sexually charged Manson family of followers.
"Back in 1967 Charles Manson was a songwriter, a criminal and Svengali who attracted a lot of young girls for his sexual pleasure," Ryder said.
"They thought of themselves as a real family and shared their personal belongings including money, love and sexual favors in a commune lifestyle. Manson is essentially a 1960's hippie love story that went tragically wrong. That is all I will say at this moment."
Ryder is known for his parodies such as "Not the Wizard of Oz XXX" and "Not the Bradys XXX."
