LOS ANGELES — Hollywood comedy “Sex Tape” starring Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel is slated to hit theatres July 18, a week earlier than it was scheduled to debut.
“Sex Tape” spoofs the dilemma that has plagued the likes of Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and Farrah Abraham and their declothed bedmates. Diaz and Segel play Annie and Jay, a married couple who decide to “spice things up” in their languishing marriage by shooting a homemade porno.
Things turn from well and spicey to horribly awry when the iPad they use to record their sexcapade syncs with the cloud, and accidentally sends the video to all of their friends and family who they gave iPads to for Christmas — which even includes the mailman.
Jack Black will make cameo appearance as the CEO of a major porn company. If the film prevails as an instance of “art mimicking life,”, Black will likely be playing a Steven Hirsch-type looking to commoditize Jay and Annie’s romp as an exclusive DVD release.
The Sony Pictures romcom was directed by Jake Kasdan, who worked with both Segel and Diaz on the film “Bad Teacher.”
Aside from Segel, Diaz and Black, “Sex Tape” also stars Rob Corddry, Ellie Kemper, Rob Lowe, Jolene Blalock and others.
