“Ever since principal photography wrapped, we’ve been hard at work on post-production of the film,” said Drake, a Wicked Pictures contract star and long-time sex educator. “Revealing the box art and setting a street date finally makes the movie’s release seem very real, and I’m beside myself with excitement for people to see it. I believe we are in the midst of a shift in the collective mindset of the adult industry, as well as society, in regards to sexuality and beauty. I’m witnessing increased acceptance across the board and I’m proud to contribute to it with ‘Plus Size.’”
The film’s cast includes BBW performers Devlyn Red, Angel DeLuca and Scarlet LaVey, as well as non-performer couples Scarlette Cyn and JC Lewis, and Sherri Shaulis and Michael Colbert. The women represent a diverse size range of 14-24.
In addition to narrating much of the project, Shibari also performs in one of the film’s full-length sex scenes with adult star Derrick Pierce.
“I’ve been anticipating the release of ‘jessica drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex: Plus Size’ ever since jessica and I started our collaboration, as I know many in the plus-size community have,” Shibari said. “We’re thrilled to finally present a peek at the box cover, and I’m particularly pleased with the choice of BBW performer Devlyn Red as our cover model. This release has been my most heartfelt project to date and we're looking forward to getting the film out to everyone soon.”
“Plus Size” covers a variety of relevant topics, from relationship communication, discussion of trigger words and acceptable terminology between partners to size-friendly sex positions and body confidence exercises.
Three full-length sex scenes, available with or without commentary, are included for optional viewing at the end of the film.
According to Drake and Shibari, interviews with plus-size adult performers, as well as non-performers, are an integral part of the project: “They provide a non-XXX look into the issues confronted by plus-size women, men and couples, and offer solutions to increase confidence and combat negative stereotypes,” they said in a news release.
“I always meant for the line to be all-inclusive, and as a performer and as a woman, I am attracted to maybe an untraditional beauty,” Drake told XBIZ. “I find beauty everywhere, in everyone. I think that by doing projects like this, that break away from what some people consider to be the ‘traditional norm,’ I just think that it's good for everyone that it gets out there. Speaking for myself, the thing that I enjoy the most and where I take away the most from the project, like usual, is the candid interviews. I got to see the struggle between being true to yourself versus external circumstances.”
