Hot Octopuss Runs Pulse Social Media Contest May 19-23

LONDON —U.K.-based pleasure products company Hot Octopuss has announced a social media contest in celebration of Masturbation Month.

One winner will receive Pulse, the company’s signature “guybrator,” selected from social media entries.

“We’re extremely proud of Pulse, and are obviously huge fans of masturbation,” said Adam Lewis, Hot Octopuss CEO. “To celebrate, we are looking forward to getting a Pulse to one lucky winner from the Twitter and Facebook public. We wish everyone the best of luck with their entries.”

To enter Hot Octopuss’ Pulse giveaway, which runs May 19 - 23, visit its Twitter page here or Facebook page here. Winners will be announced Monday, May 26.

To further celebrate May’s festivities, Hot Octopuss has released a comical video, “Evolution of Masturbation,” chronicling masturbation’s milestones throughout the century. Beginning with tissues in 1950, Playboy magazine in 1960, the gym sock in 1970 — all the way to apple pie in 1999 —the sequence ends with 2014’s hyper-modern option: the Pulse “guybrator.”

“Taking the evolving attitudes of men towards masturbation into account, we wanted to move away from the phallic, crude and simplistic toys available for men in the past,” Lewis said, referencing the video. “With our focus on technology, lifestyle and design, we wanted to bring a product to the market that was not only acceptable but perhaps even aspirational. Once you have seen the video, I am sure you will agree that it was about time someone invented Pulse. It truly represents a quantum shift for male sex toys, and the feedback from both end users and the industry has been phenomenal.”

Pulse received a 2014 XBIZ Award for Couples Sex Toy of the Year, and is currently nominated for Best New Male Product at the upcoming Erotic Trade Only (ETO) Awards.

At the heart of Pulse’s functionality lies the PulsePlate, which reportedly delivers a more intense experience than vibrators through deep-penetrating oscillations.
