LOS ANGELES — Kennedy Summers has been chosen as Playboy Magazine's 2014 Playmate of the Year, a position that gets her the coveted title as well as $100,000 in prize money, an Oris Artelier Date Diamonds watch with 72 diamonds and a year's lease on a Mini Cooper.
Summers, 27, was officially announced by Playboy founder Hugh Hefner today during a cocktail luncheon on the garden grounds of the iconic Playboy Mansion in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles.
A video of this afternoon's photo shoot with Summers at the Playboy Mansion can be seen here.
Kennedy is featured on the cover of Playboy's June 2014 issue and inside the magazine in a 12-page pictorial that gives a nod to each decade of Playboy's 60-year existence.
Kennedy is a Berlin-born, Virginia-raised international model who holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology, a master's degree in health administration and is currently working on her M.D. with plans to become a plastic surgeon. She also speaks French and German.
Kennedy is Playboy's 55th Playmate of the Year. Playboy named its first Playmate of the Year, Ellen Stratton, in 1960.
