LOS ANGELES -- Asa Akira is the subject of an in-depth feature that landed on the front page of the New York Post's website today.
In the story titled "How a prep-school kid became a millionaire porn star," writer Susannah Cahalan recounts Akira's New York roots and what her life was like before she got into the adult industry and made a steady rise to the top.
The Wicked Pictures contract star, whose new memoir "Insatiable: Porn -- A Love Story" has received lots of pre-release buzz, tells Cahalan, “Besides the moving around, I had a really normal, happy childhood. Honestly, nothing happened to me that can explain all this.”
Akira also says she is part of "the new era of porn."
"We’re feminists, very sex-positive people," she tells the Post. "We’re not victims of rape, not drug addicts, we don’t have any daddy issues.”
Akira was also photographed by Angel Chevrestt at Morgans New York Hotel in midtown Manhattan for the piece. To read the full article, click here.
