LOS ANGELES — Forbidden Fruits Films on Thursday announced a deal with director Harry Sparks to produce his next movie, which will begin shooting in South Florida in early May.
Sparks has become known for his elaborate feature movies, while Forbidden Fruits has established itself with tight-budget, independent productions that involve boundary-pushing themes. The name of the film has not been released, but casting is almost complete, the company said.
Jodi West, president of Forbidden Fruits, said, "We were completely honored when a person of Harry's stellar reputation and caliber came to us for this project. The script is fantastic, the casting is turning out to be perfect, and if it follows suit with previous projects, it will be a hit."
Jay West, the co-owner of Forbidden Fruits, added, "We are pulling out all the stops for Harry. We are slating extra production time and going beyond our normal shooting budgets to give Harry all the room and assets he needs to create this movie."
Sparks, whose previous features include "The Vampire Mistress" and "Revenge of the Petites," remarked, "I can't wait to begin shooting my first movie for Forbidden Fruits Films. I'm a huge fan and to get the opportunity to collaborate on this movie with Jay and Jodi is very exciting."
Forbidden's newest director, Levi Cash, has been flirting with darker fare with his manipulation line, but this one should go way past that, the company said. According to the company, Sparks was initially worried that the script was too edgy but after the initial production meetings, they decided to move forward.
