LOS ANGELES — Adult film star Tasha Reign has written an open letter to the Duke University freshman recently "outed" as a porn performer in her first blog entry for HuffingtonPost.com.
In the column titled "Dear 'Duke University Freshman Porn Star,' I Know What You're Going Through," Reign relates that, "I too have experienced judgment, due to a lack of understanding."
Reign, a performer, producer and director who owns her production company, has been attending UCLA part-time as a Women's Studies major since she started her porn career. The Duke co-ed, who has remained anonymous in media reports, recently defended the industry and her choice to do porn after a classmate recognized her and confronted her about her job.
"There are others in our industry too shy, or too shamed, by their family and past friends, to ever publicly voice what you have said," Reign writes. "Those same, shaming people who have passed judgment on you, have also asked me what I intend to do after college. They have reduced me to my current profession, regardless of the fact it is a legal and legitimate career choice."
