Mr. Skin Parent SK Intertainment Acquires Fleshbot

CHICAGO — SK Intertainment, the parent company behind Mr. Skin, Mr. Man, and Naked News, has announced the acquisition of Fleshbot.com.

Launched in 2003 by Gawker Media, Fleshbot has long been an established online destination for for news and reviews from the world of sex and adult entertainment. The site during the past decade has garnered attention for its unique take on sex, receiving profiles in such publications as Wired and The New Yorker.

"Fleshbot is a site we've followed for years and one that fits in nicely with our growth plan," said SK Intertainment COO Sam Rakowski. "We are excited to leverage our talent and resources to improve an already well-established product. Both readers and partners of the site can expect big improvements in the coming months."

Lux Alptraum, the editor and publisher of Fleshbot who took ownership of the site in 2012, added, “After six years of working with Fleshbot, I’m excited to move on to new challenges. I know that SK Intertainment will take the site to brand new heights, and I’m thrilled to be leaving it in such capable hands.”

Alptraum indicated she'll continue with Fleshbot as a contributing editor, as well as offer her consulting services to adult companies.

SK Intertainment was established in 1999 as the creative home for the film-review website MrSkin.com. As the owner and operator the site, SK Intertainment has remained progressive with web technology, expanding its reach with the development of internet standouts MrMan.com, MrSkinCash.com, GoodPartsMedia.com, CNDB.com, as well as managing online business operations for NakedNews.com.

Fleshbot since 2003 has specialized in sex and pop culture coverage, including both the straight and gay scenes.
