Lexi Love Scores Role in Penn Jillette's 'Director's Cut'

NEW YORK — Adult actress Lexi Love has secured a supporting role in Penn Jillette and Adam Rifkin’s crowdfunded film project, “Director’s Cut” by raising $5,100 online to support the duo’s FundAnything campaign.

The film, hailed as a very “meta” project, follows Jillette’s quest to play a bad guy in order to quash his perennial good guy image. In their pitch video, Jillette explains that, while Rifkin is actually directing, Jillette’s character believes that he’s in control of the entire film.

Love released her own YouTube video to support the ongoing “Making Penn Bad” campaign, in which she jokingly details her desire to dissuade him from doing innocent magic, kissing babies and wooing mothers by luring him to the dark side and "making him bad." A slew of A-list celebs have contributed their own videos to aid the campaign, including South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Joan Rivers, Ron Jeremy, Neil Patrick Harris, Gilbert Gottfried and John Landis, which can be viewed on the original FundAnything page.

Love offered an array of personal prizes in exchange for donations to her campaign — including spending a weekend with her in N.Y.C. and shaving her long, blonde hair. Cyan Banister, a fan of both her and Jillette, donated more than $4,000 to her efforts.

“It was a no brainer for me. I saw Lexi’s video about ‘Making Penn Bad’ and I wanted to see her in the movie ‘Director’s Cut,'” Bannister said. “This is more than me being a fan. I wanted to possibly change her life. It was clear to me that she is very passionate about getting the role and is a very talented person.”

So far, Rifkin and Jillette have raised $900,709 of their $999,972 goal for their campaign, with three days left. “Director’s Cut” is slated to start production this winter.
