Under the terms of the deal, which will commence Oct. 1, TDM will have the exclusive right to distribute Wicked films in the U.S. for cable and satellite. The companies also have agreed in a separate deal to create and distribute pay-per-view events together around the world.
According to TDM CEO Geoffrey Lurie, the companies will co-produce PPV programming that includes exciting events and “reality type” content.
“We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Wicked,” Lurie said. “Our company has enjoyed rapid growth since inception two years ago and the addition of the Wicked product line to our offerings, under the Wicked brand, which the viewing public recognize as a leader in the field, will be a major addition for us.”
Wicked previously distributed its content for TV through Playboy.
“We’ve already experienced great success with TDM distributing catalog titles of ours to the cable operators,” Wicked President Steve Orenstein said. “We can’t wait to see what they’ll do now that they have our new releases also.”
