ROME — An Italian court has issued an order that effectively blocks several leading torrent websites, TorrentFreak reported today.
ExtraTorrent, which suffered a setback last week when police in the U.K. asked its registrar to suspend its .com domain, was blocked by Italy at its new .cc address.
Also ordered blocked was 1337x.org, with its more than 586,000 torrents in its database; H33T.eu; TorrentHound.com, which indexes 6 million torrents linking to 12,755 terabytes of data; and ThePirateBay.sx.
In the U.K., meanwhile, SumoTorrent.com, MisterTorrent.me, Emp3World.com, Full-Albums.net and MaxAlbums.com all have had their domains suspended by their ISPs.
