“The great thing about this channel is that they’re eager to work with good-quality gay, bi and shemale companies, content that other broadcast and cable channels won’t take on — so it’s a whole new avenue opening up for that type of content,” Angel Pictures founder Angelique told XBIZ.
Angelique said Peephole.TV, which claims a subscriber base of 80,000, can offer content most subscription services and cable operators deem to controversial is that it broadcasts directly to individual dish owners.
Similarly, the payout structure is different than that of most pay-per-view agreements. Rather than getting a percentage of actual sales, content providers are paid a flat fee agreed to up front.
Content licensing agreements are non-exclusive, meaning producers retain the right to sell their content on other platforms.
Peephole.TV airs around 400 adult titles per month, according to Angelique, selling them to dish owners in themes blocks. Viewers also can choose a 12-month subscription option for $10 per month.
