SAN FRANCISCO — Adult retailer and educational resource Good Vibrations has partnered with leading vibrator manufacturers to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) through its Think Outside the Pink campaign.
“Whether you are surviving cancer and having to reinvent or rediscover your sex life, or are an ally and loved one of someone fighting breast cancer, we are partnering with key vendors to raise funds to go directly to NBCC,” the Good Vibrations team said in a collective statement..
From today until Oct. 31, Good Vibrations' customers can show their support by making a financial gift to the NBCC at the time of their in-store Good Vibrations purchase, where 100 percent of their donation will go to the organization. Online shoppers can contribute directly at checkout and learn more about their donations program on the GiVe Partner page.
Good Vibrations is also partnering with six top vendors to “make doing good feel better.” Ten percent of the proceeds from partner products — in a variety of colors other than the traditional pink — will go to NBCC, including the We-Vibe 3, Pyxis from Jopen, Fifi by JeJoue, Mystic Wand from Vibratex, the Gyro-G by Pleasure Works and the Jimmyjane Form 3. Online shoppers can browse the selections on the GiVe Partner Page, and choose to make an additional gift if they wish.
"The idea of working with our vendors to make a difference was so natural and everyone was delighted to participate,” said Coyote Days, Good Vibrations senior buyer. “It's great to offer these high-quality, eco-rotic items in a way that actually affects positive change.”
The NBCC was formed in 1991 with one mission: to end breast cancer. In its 20 years of operation, NBCC has contributed to the cause by raising research funds, expanding access pf information and care to underserved women, and launching training programs to prepare advocates around the globe to work side-by-side with scientists, policy makers and health care providers.
"We're especially excited that this organization's terrific work includes advocacy training, so that women themselves can be a powerful influence for fighting breast cancer,” Staff Sexologist Dr. Carol Queen said. “Just as Good Vibrations' focus has always been empowering women to be the true experts about their own sexuality, NBCC makes sure women's voices and experience are central to this critical health issue."
Good Vibrations offers products through its website, GoodVibes.com and via its retail stores in San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland and in Brookline, MA.
