HARRISBURG, Penn. — Sarah Hunter was fired from two jobs in the last two months after her employers discovered she has worked as a nude model, she told Fox 43 in an interview in which she asked viewers not to judge a book by its cover.
“I know plenty of very educated, very intelligent women, myself included, who got into the sex industry because it’s what they enjoy, it’s what they like … but that doesn’t in any way make someone any less capable of doing any other kind of job,” she said.
She added that she does not regret her experiences, despite losing her bartending and hostess jobs almost back to back.
"I’m not ashamed of what I’ve done," she said.
Pennsylvania is not a “right to work” state, meaning that it is relatively easy for employers to hire and fire their workers at will, Legal Analyst Steven Breit explained. He also said that it is relatively difficult for sacked employees to file a discrimination claim if the reasons for letting the individual go are articulated clearly.
