MELBOURNE — “Australia’s Best Known Porn Star” Angela White appeared last night on the Australian news program “The Feed,” leading viewers through a virtual tour of the Brisbane Sexpo and discussing the future of porn.
The segment was an installment on the Australian channel SBS 2 show's “Sextember” series, featuring reports on sex tech, fetishists, escorts and more, meant to “shock, arouse and enlighten audiences,” the studio says. For more information on past and upcoming episodes, click here.
On last night's mini-doc, White was shown leading the camera around the Brisbane Expo, meeting-and-greeting with fans and presenting acts on the main stage. She then sat down with interviewer Alex Park to discuss the potential power of livecams to combat piracy and ailing DVD sales.
“You can torrent a recording of a live webcam stream, but you can never replicate the experience of a true live interaction with your favorite performer,” White told XBIZ. “While I know some performers are resisting the changes live streaming webcams does offer performers additional revenues and offers the potential for performers to gain independence and more control over earnings, as well as being a great platform to interact with their fan base.”
The documentary aired at 7:30 AEST.
White, continuing in the vein of industry education, will also be serving as a panelist for the Pleasure Forum Australia’s latest monthly discussion “Australian Porn: A New Frontier” that will be held tomorrow night.
Hosted by Cyndi Darnell, the discussion between White and four other major adult players will illuminate the burgeoning Australian porn scene, which PFA says “is gaining notoriety globally and earning respect from some of the global greats.”
