SAO PAULO, Brazil — Sasha Grey was mobbed by 1,000 fans on Wednesday at a book signing in Sao Paulo for "The Juliette Society," a novel, already out in the U.S. and soon to be published in 40 countries.
Grey's novel, she says, goes down a new path in literature while promoting women's self-empowerment.
Hollywood studio 20th Century Fox has already bought the rights to turn the book into a movie, hoping to capitalize on the success of the erotic romance novel "50 Shades of Grey."
The novel narrates a young woman's induction into a clandestine sex club and, of course, her ensuing erotic adventures.
At the sex club, bankers, media barons, arms traffickers, decorated military officers and members of the Catholic clergy mingle to relax and satisfy their deepest and kinkiest BDSM sexual fantasies.
"Catherine enjoys being sexually dominated, but she knows how to take control and have the power," Grey told FOX News.
Grey quit the porn biz in 2011, but the former porn star has dabbled in numerous roles in mainstream entertainment, including Steven Soderbergh's "The Girlfriend Experience.”
