Study: 10% of Swedish Boys View Porn Daily

STOCKHOLM, Sweden — One in 10 of 16-year-old boys in Sweden access online porn every day, a new study has found.

Uppsala University researchers based their study on interviews with 477 boys who were in their first year of high school in Uppsala, which is located in eastern Sweden.

Magdalena Mattebo, a doctoral student at the university's Department of Women's and Children's Health, noted that the number of boys who view porn has not increased but rather the frequency of visits to porn sites has increased.

"Previous generations had to go to the news agent and buy a magazine to get access to pornography, but these days it is just a click away," Mattebo said.

Sixteen-year-old girls also partook in the study. The study, involving 400 girls, said that 54 percent said they had watched porn at some point, and 30 percent said they had watched more than once.
