‘Money Shot Report’ to Debut on GayWired

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — "The Money Shot Report," a web-based TV program dedicated to showcasing and celebrating all aspects of the gay adult entertainment industry, has picked up some mainstream momentum from GayWired.com, which said it will stream the pilot episode of the show for several weeks beginning in mid-September.

“The Money Shot Report” will be the first adult entertainment-focused addition to GayWired.com, which is owned by here! Interactive Media, a gay TV and Internet network, providing more than 3 million monthly viewers with content dedicated to all aspects of gay life and culture.

“We initially targeted the show to stream on a large group of gay adult video-on-demand sites such as NakedSword.com and others but to have a non-adult site such as GayWired.com realize the entertainment value of such a show even before the pilot airs has really gratified me,” Executive Producer Brett Drysdale said. “This type of mainstream media is exactly where I wanted to have the pilot and ultimately the series expand to.”

Drysdale said “The Money Shot Report” is an example of what he calls “adult/mainstream convergence,” a trend that he hopes will increase adult entertainment’s growing acceptability and credibility.

According to here! President Matt Skallerud, the timing is ripe for the fusion between adult and mainstream.

“We’re excited to be working with their team on debuting ‘The Money Shot Report’ on our site,” Skallerud said. “We’ve grown over the past 11 years in such a way that we’ve been able to embrace all aspects of gay life, from news to travel to the adult industry.”

The show is set to premiere after Labor Day, Drysdale said, adding the decision to push the debut back came after meeting with representatives of several of the gay adult sites already onboard at the XBIZ ’06 Summer Forum in Las Vegas, who told him that such an important show should wait for a larger fall audience.
