STOCKHOLM — Swedish novelty brand Lelo announced today that its products will make a cameo appearance in the film “The Wolverine” starring Hugh Jackman.
“To be asked to be part of what’s sure to be one of the year’s biggest blockbusters, Lelo truly is excited and we can’t wait for the movie to hit the theatres so everyone can be exposed to our brand in this long-awaited and high-profile production,” said Donna Faro, Lelo sales and marketing director.
This installment of the “Wolverine” blockbuster franchise follows the return of the Marvel Comics hero who travels to Japan after a stint in the Canadian wilderness and the disbandment of the X-Men. In Japan, he becomes entangled in a web of conflict that forces him to confront his inner demons.
Lelo’s “pleasure objects” are featured twice in the film: once where Wolverine and love interest Mariko are hiding out in a Japanese hotel and another where Mariko’s husband is entertaining two young girls in his apartment.
Lelo says this is the first time time its products have appeared in a mainstream Hollywood film, though they have been featured on a number of TV programs in Australia, the U.S. and the UK.
Directed by James Mangold, “The Wolverine” co-stars Rila Fukushima, Hiroyuki Sanada and Tao Okamoto. It hit theatres worldwide today.
