Zipper, who develops, shoots and edits his own movies, said that signing with Vivid offers him the creative freedom he needs to make his highly stylized films.
“I like to make movies that are talked about and Vivid is attractive to directors with a distinct vision,” Zipper said. “I view filmmaking as an art and adult entertainment as the last cultural frontier. It is tied to the mainstream in invisible ways. I make my movies to be wild and guilty pleasures and to be timeless. I hope to touch as many people as possible with my work and outlive any trend.”
According to Zipper, his first film for Vivid will be a space fantasy using top talent and several Emmy Award-winning CGI artist, who have worked on such mainstream releases as “Return of the Jedi” and “Hellboy.”
“We admire Jack’s bold and artistic approach to filmmaking and look forward to working with him,” Vivid co-Chairman Steven Hirsch said.
Zipper’s first film was “Stuntgirl,” which he followed with the release of “Squealer.” He made both films for Hustler Video.
