LOS ANGELES — Brittany Andrews will be a special guest reader to kick off festivities at the 2nd annual Hunter S. Thompson birthday party.
She will be reading an excerpt from his book "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."
The event will take place Tuesday, July 23 at 8 p.m. at New York’s 2A Upstairs Lounge (located at 25 Avenue A in the Lower East Side).
Andrews was selected to appear along with other New Yorkers.
“It is a great honor for me to be able to pay tribute to such a celebrated author,” Andrews said. "'Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas' with Johnny Depp is one of my favorite movies and it inspired me to read Thompson’s other works over the years. I’m super excited to be a part of this celebration.”
After-party festivities will follow at Headquarters Gentleman’s Club at 10 p.m. where Andrews will team up with burlesque troupe The Wild Cherryz who were recently seen on NBC-TV’s America’s Got Talent season six.
Andrews will co-host and perform her DJ sets in between performances.
“It will be a fabulous thrill to perform alongside the tantalizing and uber talented Wild Cherryz,” Andrews said.
Headquarters Gentlemen’s Club is located at 552 West 38th Street (between 10th and 11th Avenue) in New York City.
