ICUP will officially launch Vivid’s new product line at the MAGIC Marketplace Show in Las Vegas Aug. 28-31. Vivid’s contract performers will be attending the show to sign autographs and pose for photos with fans.
Under the terms of the deal, ICUP will be responsible for creating a line of Vivid-branded t-shirts for men and women as well as gift items including a puzzle, card game and barware.
Vivid’s licensing and branding program extends to advertising, apparel, book publishing, virility supplements, condoms, snowboards, calendars and comic books. With a recognizable name and logo, it was a no brainer for the company to expand its product offerings in the consumer marketplace, according to Vivid co-founder and co-Chairman Steven Hirsch.
“This is exactly the kind of licensing partner we love to have,” Hirsch said about ICUP. “They understand Vivid’s crossover appeal to mainstream and are highly experienced and well-established in their business category. They also know how to have fun with their product designs, manufacture with outstanding quality and have excellent distribution.”
Established in 1998, ICUP serves as a manufacturer and distributor of original, licensed and branded novelty products and apparel. In 2003, the company acquired the rights to license merchandise from FOX TV’s cartoon “Family Guy.” ICUP also has been successful in creating and branding products for AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and KISS.
“ICUP is a gift company with a propensity toward sex and rock n’ roll, so the Vivid product is perfect for us,” ICUP’s Steven Trachtenberg said. “We have received commitments from several national chains, and we expect enthusiasm for the product to be fabulous when we get to the MAGIC show Aug. 29.”
