Sinsation CEO Paul Marco, who describes Sinsations’ movies as “feature parodies,” told XBIZ that he sees the deal as an affirmation of his product’s quality.
“Wicked has a great brand and distribution network, so when they decided to distribute our movies, it sort of told me what I already knew — that we’re making good movies people will want to watch,” Marco said.
Launched this year, Sinsation is off to a fast start in marketing and branding its name and titles to consumers, media and distributors.
In March, Sinsation signed an global broadcast distribution agreement with cable powerhouse CED, with CED President Marc Bruder calling Sinsation’s content “a breath of fresh air” in the adult market.
The first title to be distributed under the agreement, “Latin Sinsations Finding Good Help,” stars Shy Love, Jasmine Byrne, Eva Angelina, Daisy Marie, Dee, Jenavive Joli, Avy Lee Roth and August and ships Aug. 16. Previously released Sinsations titles also will be available for reorder through Wicked.
Marco said the deal with Wicked came about in part through his friendship with Wicked owner Steve Orenstein.
“The whole reason I got into the business in the first place is that I knew Steve,” he said.
Still, Marco attributes the company’s early success to an emphasis on quality. He said Sinsation will stick to a tight production schedule of only one title per month because the budgets are high for adult movies and he wants to remain involved in every aspect of the productions.
“I retired from another business a few years ago, and when I got into this business, of course I wanted to make money, but I also wanted to put out something different from all the gonzo flooding the market,” Marco said. “We’re one of the few all high-definition companies, and there’s definitely demand for higher-end product.”
