HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Online retail sales were substantially up in the first quarter of the year for AdamAndEve.com, the company says.
Adam & Eve said yesterday that the 37 percent increase in online sales helped fuel first-quarter profits for the company in the months of January through March.
"We've seen large increases in sales via direct site traffic, both paid and natural search, and television and new media," said Chad Davis, director of marketing for Adam & Eve. "In addition, even with this increased volume, AdamAndEve.com has been able to lower its operational costs, which is quite a feat.
"Besides Valentine's Day being the best holiday of the year for us, we attribute the increase in sales to the continued expansion into nonprint marketing channels. More efficient marketing and operations impacted profit."
