Sunny Leone's Bollywood Contract Not Exclusive

NEW DELHI, India — Sunny Leone’s three-movie deal with producer Parag Sanghvi will not exclusively bind her to Alumbra Entertainment as many sources claimed, according to Leone’s manager and husband, Daniel Weber.

The contract, publicly announced last week, has been in the works since November and is a “loose agreement” conscripting Leone for three movies with Alumbra following the release of her latest film, “Ragini," Weber told XBIZ.

“The production company owner and I are very close and if there is another film Sunny wants to shoot outside of this agreement it will be no issue to do so,” he said.

While most of the forthcoming films’ details are being kept tightly under wraps, Weber confirmed that the first movie of the trifecta will be a thriller. He also said that Leone will play the lead, as she has done in her past flicks produced in India.

Weber was not able to comment on the dollar-amount of the deal, which BollywoodLife and other sources reported as approximately $1 million — a sum worth considerably more in India than in the states.

According to Weber, Leone’s cinematic success overseas will not compromise her and Weber’s co-run stateside business venture, SunLust Pictures. Via its website, SunLust offers Leone’s exclusive adult videos, as well as lingerie and novelty items bearing the crossover star’s namesake or seal of approval.

“We have a very capable staff and things will remain the same as we release titles every month,“ Weber said. “I am back in L.A. every two weeks from India to make sure everything is operating normal as well.”

Since Leone’s successful appearance in popular Indian reality show, “Bigg Boss” and Bollywood movies like “Jism 2” and "Shootout in Wadala," she has been catapulted to mainstream fame in India and internationally.
