Adult Social Networking Site Utherverse.com Debuts

LOS ANGELES — The makers of 3D online site RedLightCenter.com are attempting to ramp up traffic with the launch of adult social networking site Utherverse.com.

CEO Brian Schuster told XBIZ that the social network has all of the features of MySpace and Friendster, and includes one more — users can integrate their personas as avatars into RedLightCenter, a virtual multiuser community that includes live chat and email.

“[Utherverse.com] is the natural extension of RedLightCenter,” Schuster said. “We’re trying to create an adults-only community, eliminating the censorship component that other social networking sites impose.”

The social network industry has seen explosive growth in the last year. ComScore Media Metrix, in a study released in May, said the top 10 social network sites were visited by nearly 127 million unique individuals. About 65 percent of those individuals are at least 18 years old.

Utherverse is projecting more than 1 million registered users by the end of this year for its social networking site.

Schuster said that with minimal viral promotion, users have already begun flocking to Utherverse.com. “It’s amazing how a little thing, like offering true freedom of expression, changes the entire social networking online experience,” he said. “Our users love it.”

Utherverse.com users can upload erotic photos of themselves to completing fantasy profiles, said Schuster, who noted that MySpace users can simply copy and paste their MySpace code into Utherverse.com’s “about” section.

The site also includes a software option that provides an interface where users can create 3D animated avatars, complete with a digital representation of themselves with their desired age, body, look and style.

Utherverse.com users can then lead themselves to RedLightCenter, where they can experience further social interaction as well as “unrestricted” sex. Visitors can move on to an array of stores that include adult products, including sex toys, condoms, adult videos and sexy lingerie from well-known brands.

Schuster said that with the Utherverse.com launch, the company will be releasing improved versions of RedLightCenter. “We’ll soon have additional interfaces, like a mermaid fantasy area and a resort spa,” he said.
